Ribble Valley Archaeology

RVA are an amateur archaeological group who undertake archaeological fieldwork, excavations and documentary research  in the Ribble Valley and Bowland area.

We undertake our own research projects but can also offer archaeological services and support to researchers and local history societies.

We welcome anyone who wishes to learn about archaeology and take part in excavations, surveying or documentary research. You do not need any knowledge or experience as we will provide full training.

We are very keen to discover and document new archaeological sites in our area and we will always make public the results of our research.

Area of interest

Our main focus will be projects in the Ribble Valley and the Forest of Bowland AONB.

Recording and Publishing

All our fieldwork will be recorded and made available including all the primary records created during excavation.

Get Involved

All are welcome to join or support our work. Get actively involved in our projects or help us financially by becoming members or making donations.
